Barry Allen’s career spans four decades of work in broadcasting, film exhibition, television distributionand film preservation. Barry retired from Paramount Pictures in 2010 after 24 years were of many years he served as Executive director of Film Preservation and Archival Resources. But retirement did not stop Barry from continuing to search for films he’d not seen and reading everything he could on film studies and history.
In 2005 Barry was honored by Anthology Film Archives for his work in film preservation.
In retirement Barry continues to engage with friends and students, and anyone who’ll listen, on the issues of film preservation and restoration.
