Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Roger Ebert’s Film Festival. As a not-for-profit organization, the festival has always depended on the generosity of volunteers. We are grateful for their many contributions and know that we could not present this wonderful event without them.
The most immediate need is for our Virginia Theatre Team:
Each festival would not work without the many dedicated people sharing some of their time. Volunteers are needed to do many of the tasks around the festival, including taking tickets, guiding patrons to their seats, helping guide the lines, and with the sale of merchandise. All volunteers get a Virginia Theatre T-Shirt and the chance to see a movie.
We expect all our volunteers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or to have a negative test taken within 72hrs of shifts.
If you are interested in volunteering at this year’s festival, sign up at the link above. You must attend one of the orientation sessions that happen in-person at the Virginia Theatre or on the U of I campus. Below are the dates and times of of this years' orientation sessions at the Virginia Theatre. If you are interested in the on-campus orientation, information will be emailed to you:
Virginia Theatre Volunteer Orientation
Dates and times TBD
Mandatory orientation session must be completed before volunteering at Ebertfest.
Email Jeff Headley, jeff.headley@champaignparks.org, with any questions regarding Virginia Theatre orientation sessions.
Thank you for your interest and look forward to seeing you at the theatre!
In addition to the need for Virginia Theatre volunteers, we also need Hosts. Hosts are responsible for the transportation of various festival guests. If you are interested in becoming a Host, email Molly Cornyn at ebertfest@illinois.edu for more information.
