Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Roger Ebert’s Film Festival. As a not-for-profit organization, the festival has always depended on the generosity of volunteers. We are grateful for their many contributions and know that we could not present this wonderful event without them.
The most immediate need is for our Virginia Theatre Team:
Each festival wouldn’t work without the many dedicated people sharing some of their time. Volunteers are needed to do many of the tasks around the festival, including taking tickets, guiding patrons to their seats, helping guide the lines, and with the sale of merchandise. All volunteers get a Virginia Theatre T-Shirt and the chance to see a movie.
We expect all our volunteers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or to have a negative test taken within 72hrs of shifts.
If you are interested in volunteering at this year’s festival, sign up at the link above and then you must attend one of the orientation sessions that happen via Zoom. We'll add below times and dates (along with a link for each) for orientation sessions as the Virginia Theatre schedules them:
Virginia Theatre Volunteer Orientation
Mandatory orientation session should be completed before volunteering at Ebertfest.
Orientations will occur April 5th 7th 12th at 5pm at the Virginia Theatre and the April 14th will be a Zoom call at 5pm. Email Jeff Headley, firstname.lastname@example.org, to be on the Zoom orientation.
In addition, an orientation will be held on campus on April 3rd at 2pm in Lincoln Hall room 1090. Sign up above to be contacted.
Thank you for your interest and look forward to seeing you at the theatre!
